Video : I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time by Mariah Carey | *Rolleyes*

“I’ll Be Lovin U Long Time” is the new single from Mariah Carey off of her E=MC2 album. It’s actually the least of my favorites. Hmmm, I don’t like it. The day I bought the CD and was going through the song titles, it’s the title that made me scrunch up my nose. Then I saw the video and I’ve been scrunching up my nose ever since.

Look, Mariah Carey is hot. Fine, whatever. Props to her. “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time” video shows off her gorgeous body but that’s about it. Just like the title, it’s nothing extraordinary. It’s quite juvenile actually which happens to be my verdict when I wrote my E=MC2 review. How many times have we seen Mariah frolicking in the beach wearing an itty bitty bikini on her videos?

The real reason I don’t like the song? Do you know where the “lovin’ u long time” phrase came from? It’s from the movie FULL METLA JACKET. It’s a line from a prostitute in Vietnam offering an American soldier a $5 oral sex. “…….. me love u long time”. Mariah Carey can twist and turn and do flips in the air and deny that she didn’t derive the lyrics from that movie but I (we) know better. And I was truly disappointed that at this point of Mariah’s career, she used that phrase in her title and wrote a song all around it. There has been a lot of other songs that has used that phrase, but I didn’t expect it from Mariah Carey who’s actually a lyrically gifted person. I don’t like the song, and the video as well. It’s a sexy video meant for Nick Cannon. That’s what it is. Well Mariah Carey has other fans. Like young and Women fans. Not just males. Besides it’s the women who buys her CD’s. If there are guys buying her CD’s, they’re not about to admit it.

I Hope her next single is MIGRATE coz that’s my favorite from the whole album.
