It’s Alright, It’s Ok by Ashley Tisdale

April 30, 2009 by Dexie

It’s Alright, It’s Ok by Ashley Tisdale came out a few a week ago or so but I didn’t rush into listening to it or watching the video. I’m not a fan, sorry. She’s a beautiful girl, don’t get me wrong but I already like Miley Cyrus, I don’t think my ears can handle any more nasal way of singing, heh. But I finally listened to Ashley’s single today and well, I wish I stuck to my guns and just didn’t even venture out there. What’s done is done though.

IT’S ALRIGHT, IT’S OK official music video

All I can say is that Ashley’s voice sounded too much of a scream or a shriek. I actually prefer Vanessa Hudgen’s sound. She happens to be Ashley’s co-star in the High School Musical phenomenon aka Zac Efron’s girlfriend. In summation, my ears are still ringing from listening to Ashley. No offense hun.

It’s Alright, It’s Ok is off of Ashley Tisdale’s upcoming album Guilty Pleasure that’s due out on June 16th.

Britney’s "If You Seek Amy" Radio Woes

January 14, 2009 by Dexie

Britney-Spears-Circus-Promo-picture3 Britney’s fans, present company included, who are so excited to hear "If You Seek Amy" as Britney’s rumored new single on the radios need to calm down a little bit. There might be some troubles brewing. We, as Britney’s mature, grown up fans get the "joke" and still love the song but some Moms with an 8 yr old little kid in the van might not appreciate it as much. According to Uberrazzi, the Cincinnati’s Q102 radio station has a put a ban on the song for airplay.

Darn. I guess it’s still safe to assume that parents have no say on what their kids wear when they decide to look like Britney Spears who by the way is like 26? I’m also guessing that when an 8 yr old hear the song in the car, she’ll ask her mom to turn it up because she loves the song especially the part where Britney says "If You Seek Amy". The "powerless" mother can just sit there and cry and then blame Britney Spears for being such a bad role model to kids and parents alike.

Thanks, Mom with an 8 yr old kid in the van. Sherri from Britney Groupie has a lot to say about this issue too.

Preview Of Kelly Clarkson’s "My Life Would Suck Without You"

January 9, 2009 by Dexie

A preview of "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson, off of her upcoming album called "All I Ever Wanted" has been released to tease us all until it’s released in the radio airwaves on January 16th. That is of course some disgruntled studio worker leaks it 2 days before, *wink wink*.

Listen to a 30 seconds preview of "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson.

It sounds fast paced and definitely radio friendly. It sure has a potential of being on top of Pop Charts. I guess if you can’t beat ‘em (music industry) join ‘em. I hope Kelly Clarkson is happy about her upcoming album and hasn’t given up all creative inputs on the direction of this album. The American Idol winner has always been vocal about having her own ideas reflect on her music. Somehow, artists and the people behind the record companies have to compromise in the middle to give the fans something to enjoy.

"All I Ever Wanted" will be out on March 17. "My Life Would Suck Without You" lyrics can be found here.

Dirty Dancing By NKOTB

September 11, 2008 by Dexie

My favorite part from Dirty Dancing which is also one of my favorite songs from NKOTB’s The Block is Donnie’s part. When he raps, “With an itty bitty waist, and a pretty pretty face…… she was lookin’ for a taste and she was wantin’ me to party…“. Yeah, I like that part. And then it goes on to the group’s smooth sensual voice, “Oh it’s so crazy, she’s like Baby,I’m like Swayze…“. I’m swept off of my feet. LOL. Yeah, it doesn’t take much :)

Sexify My Love By NKOTB

September 9, 2008 by Dexie

One of my favorite songs from NKOTB’s The Block album is Sexify My Love. I think the title speaks for itself, no? It sounds dirty, hot, and sexy. But there’s a part in the chorus that makes the song actually sweet. “Baby tonight I’m going to set you free, Sexify My Love, let your body talk, Baby surrender all your lovin’ to me”. That part just sounds so romantically sweet. But then you hear the part where Joey (or Jordan, can’t really tell) sings, “I don’t care where we are, on the hood of my car, out in public, making love in the streets..” and then you’d wake up from a short sweet reverie and say, “wait a minute, that’s not sweet, that’s dirrrrrrrrrty. In a good hot way of course. Hehe :)

Don’t forget to check out our NKOTB Contest. You might win one of the copies of The Block. Good Luck!

Summer Hits For My Summer Soundtrack

August 17, 2008 by Dexie

As part of the Music Channel’s Summer Soundtrack theme day, I’m sharing with you the summer hits I’ve been listening to. I guess you could call it as a “Summer Soundtrack”. I haven’t had time time to crank up the old school songs, except on a few instances here at the Song Of The Day feature. As August is such a busy month for me, I usually pump the volume up when my favorite hits are playing on Satellite TV’s XM Hitlist or 20 on 20. Take a listen below and hope everyone is having a wonderful Summer!

As you can see and hear, not all of the songs are geared into the POP Music genre per se’. But music is universal and I listen to all kinds. Although surprisingly, I’m not digging the pop country songs lately. Oh well. Like I said, Hapy summer and feel free to share with me your summer soundtrack on the comments box. I would love to check them out too. Thanks!

Take You There by Donnie Klang Ft. P Diddy

August 12, 2008 by Dexie

Take You There video by Donnie Klang premiered on FN’MTV last Friday but I’ve only seen the show and the video this morning. 2 Things that kept creeping up my consciousness. Geez he looks like Adam from Maroon 5, and Damn this video is SEXY!

And then by the time the panel on the show had a chance to say what they thought of it, P Diddy went up and started talking smack. At first I thought well thank you for shutting Jordin Sparks up coz she was about to recite a monologue about her Idol experience again. And then when it was the real expert from the panel’s turn, P Diddy got annoying. He wouldn’t let the guy talk. He kept saying, “who are you? how many records have you created?, how many hits have you had…” On and on an on. Yeah, WTG P Diddy. Way to promote your new discover. Don’t let the “expert” have a say. I mean it’s P. Diddy’s artist, so it must be good.

I actually liked the video, even though there were a lot of scantily clad Women trying to get in Donny Klang’s pants. Not to mention a reminiscent of any videos that Justin Timberlake could’ve made. And like a said, it reminded me of Maroon 5. The video wasn’t that bad. It’s what you would expect from a new Male Pop Artist trying to make a name for himself by creating a sexy video. Sean Combs aka P Diddy’s actions towards the panel judge on the other hand left a bitter taste in my mouth. Get over yourself Man.

Song Of The Day : Take On Me by A Ha

August 11, 2008 by Dexie

The video for Take On Me was such a phenomenon in the 80’s when it first came out. How did they do that? was the question was on everybody’s minds. It was cinematic that’s for sure. ‘Twas a fantastic concept that was executed successfully. Plus the song isn’t too shabby either. Talk about love beyond boundaries :).
