I was ranting about a CNN special about Madonna turning 50 last Monday and if you missed it, please read it first, then come back to this post. To some who has read it, well, here’s that video. And the young women on the street who really pissed me off when I heard their ageists and sexist comments. For a recap, some of the young women on the street said Madonna is too old so she should just go home and be a woman.

Now that I’ve watched the video again, the girl actually said, “settle down and be an old woman”. The accent threw me off when I first saw it last weekend. Nevertheless, I still think it’s wrong to say that. So what does an “old woman” should do at home? Hmmm??. And I also find it surprising that they even made a special about it. Like I said, no one makes a big deal of Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting, Prince, etc, turning 50, let alone young women calling for their retirement by saying, “go home…”

There’s nothing that pisses me off on a Saturday morning more than a CNN special (or some other network, can’t really remember) with a bunch of ignorant people telling their stupid opinion about the Pop Queen Madonna. That’s exactly what happened last Saturday. I woke up, TV was already on since Hubby was awake, there are these young British woman in the street saying how Madonna is 50  so she should pretty much just go home and wait to die. One woman ticked me off so bad I wanted to reach inside my monitor and shake her senseless when she said, “Madonna is 50, she should go home and be a woman“.

Umm excuse me? And what does a woman who is 50 years old should do to be a “woman”. Should she knit some booties for her grandchildren? Should she cook and clean for Guy Richie?  I want to freaking know what Madonna should do when she goes home to be a “Woman” because she’s 50 years old?

There’s nothing wrong with a Woman who chooses to be a Stay-At-Home-Mom/Wife. I used to be one, Now I’m a Work-At-Home Mom/Wife. Sure a woman can clean, cook, do laundry, dishes, drive all the kids everywhere, take care of the kids while the husband brings home the bacon. There is nothing wrong with all of that. But that’s a woman’s choice. Madonna chose to be a Pop Star. She is just as worthy as anyone who chose to be a SAHM, WAHM or someone who runs an executive company or whatever profession are out there.

It’s the only video I could find right now but here is Miley Cyrus opening the 2008 Teen Choice Awards with her performance of 7 Things. I must say that Miley looked all too passionate in this performance. More passionate that she has ever been. Maybe because Nick was in the front row..hehe. Miley perfromed really well. I’m so proud of her. And she did it live, unlike Mariah Carey, heh. Miley also went up to Selena Gomez and they sang a few lines together. There you go, Miley and Selena are not getting into a teen-catfight anytime soon, heh. They’re teens, leave them alone. I’m sure we’ve all been catty and mean to someone before when we were young. :).

If I find a better video tomorrow, I’ll post that too.

Surprisingly, Fergie is not wearing something leather and tight at the 2008 Teen Choice Red Carpet. Thank goodness. Geez, her legs must need some breathing time too. She went in a baggy maxi dress which looks pretty but looks too big. Well, that’s Fergie. If it isn’t leather and tight, it’s something oversize, heh.

I really don’t understand why but Britney Spears has settled the custody of her two children with ex-hubby Kevin Federline. Papazao gets to keep custody of the boys while Britney gets visitation rights. It’s unfathomable to me, being a mother of 2 kids myself, to just give up custody of my children. Over my dead body. BUT, we don’t know the whole story.

Britney may have just been exhausted with all the court appearances and putting the kids in the middle. Or she’s not well recovered yet to put her kids in any kind of danger. Especially with paparazzis following her everywhere. When the kids are with her, the paps follow. Thre might be stioulations to be changed in the future. Who knows.

So whatever made Britney and her Lawyers decide to settle, I hope it’s the right decision for all people concerned. My heart is breaking though. There are worse mothers out there and they have custody of their children.

Look on the bright side, having the boys in K-Fed’s custody might deter women from  hooking up with him. Coz seriously, the guy doesn’t need another woman to impregnate with his you know what. 4 is enough dude.

As I reported this weekend, Hayden Panettiere debuted her new single, “Wake Up Call” on Ryan Seacrest’s KISS-FM radio show show this morning. Hayden calls her debut album “eclectic”. She also shared that debuting the 4-year in the making album on the radio is scary and terrifying. Furthermore, she also said her experiences in life certainly reflects on her music.

Hayden Panettiere is set to premiere a new single called ‘Wake Up Call’ on July 15th, on 102.7 KIIS FM at 8:30am hosted by Ryan Seacrest. So if you live in Los Angeles tune in.

FYI, this singing thing is not something Hayden just thought about one day and had a ‘wake up call’, heh. She had a singing career before she became the Cheerleader that everyone from the NBC hit Heroes needed to save to save the World. Hayden Panettiere is a multitalented star. And one of those talents is singing. She’s not one of those actors who thought of making an album because they wanted to. Hayden was already singing before she became a famous TV Star. She did a few Disney TV movies (I shamelessly watched some of them.. LOL) where she also sang the theme song from the movies.

Janet Jackson and boyfriend Jermaine Dupri has been making rounds a lot at the 2009 Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture shows. I wonder if she’s looking for costumes for her upcoming Tour. Either that or she’s taking the time to enjoy Paris Fashion Week before heading out for the tour and gaining some insights on what’s hot in fashion for fall 2009.

Jennifer Lopez made the children from Kathy Amati’s class in Staten Island New York Elementary school when she showed up and performed for them. The teacher showed the kids Jennifer Lopez’s video of her song “Let’s Get Loud“, they enjoyed it immensely that they watched it over and over again. They even learned the lyrics and the dance moves. Kathy Amati encouraged her class to write JLO a letter and ask for pictures and maybe autographs.

Jennifer Lopez did something better. At the children’s graduation party, JLO surprised the kids and perform her Let’s Get Loud song for them. Neither the kids nor the parents knew she was coming until the Principal announced he had a surprise for the. Awww. Wasn’t that nice of JLO?

I’m not like a big fan of JLO but she’d be happy to know Let’s Get Loud is my favorite too :). I love working out and dancing to that song :). Listen to  “Let’s Get Loud” below :

Miley Cyrus is not grounded anymore? :). Here she is performing her heart out at the KIIS-FM 2008 Wango Tango this weekend. Pop Music Scene is glad to see her out of hiding. Don’t mind the critics Miley. Everybody makes mistakes, trust me. whoever tries to throw stones at you are a bunch of hypocrites. And I’m sure you’ll make more as you grow into this business. Just be a little bit more aware next time :).
