Britney Spears‘ next video is going to be for her single "If You Seek Amy". Albeit some minor outrage surfaced due to the song’s "real" meaning, it seems the single and video is ready for takeoff. I’m glad because "If You Seek Amy" is one of my favorite songs from her Circus album.

The premise behind "If You Seek Amy" video is that Britney Spears will be portraying a 50’s housewife, sporting a blonde Marilyn-esque hairstyle with pink fitted polo shirt and white skirt. Think Stepford’s Wife. There’s going to be an apple pie involved baked especially by Britney that she will graciously feed to the paparazzis. Expect a few costume changes, and dancers with skimpy outfits. More information regarding this video here.

I reported back in November that Wade Robson and his wife were directing and choreographing Britney’s upcoming tour as Wade himself stated in a video, but plans have changed. Wade was actually only hired to direct Britney’s Circus promotional tour which had ended in Japan.

Jamie King, who also directed Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet Tour which by the way raked in A LOT of money is now replacing Wade and his wife as Britney Spears Circus’ Tour Director while Simon Ellis is the Musical Director for the tour.

This is some sort of a reunion between Britney and Jamie as well. Britney has worked with Jamie in her "Oops, I Did It Again World Tour" in 2000. I have Jamie’s hip hop exercise "Rock Your Body" DVD. If you are not a natural dancer then it’s better you stick to CRUNCH videos because Jamie King’s steps are so hard to follow even for a dancer like me. Having said that, Britney Spears Circus Tour is definitely going to rock.

Apparently, Justin Timberlake’s love squeeze caught the bug for music from her new romantic comedy movie “Easy Virtue”. Rumor has it that Jessica Biel and British music big wigs like Marius De Vries have set things in motion for her music career.

This week, Pink ascends to the #1 spot on the U.S. singles chart. The first single off of her upcoming album, Funhouse, called So What, is sitting comfortably in the #1 position in Billboard’s “Hot 100 Singles,” “Hot Digital Songs” and “Hot Digital Tracks” charts.

Furthermore, it’s number one in radio airplay gainer for four weeks in a row. It’s top 10 most played songs at CHR radio stations. It’s part of the top 10 videos on MTV and is currently  in rotation on VH-1, Fuse, and Music Choice

Funhouse is Pink’s 5th album which is set for commercial release on October 28th. Watch the “So What” video.

We love our Pop Groups don’t we? NKOTB, Helllloooo??? Jonas Brothers? Pussycat Dolls are HOT! How about some of Danity Kane? Maroon 5 anyone? Well guess what? MTV is about to premiere their new LIVE reality competition show. This time it’s the search for the Top Pop group. Mario Lopez, the host of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew will help showcase 9 undiscovered Pop Group in the US who will be competing for the title of MTV’s Top Pop Group.

Following a nationwide search in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Miami and Los Angeles, MTV will welcome nine of the greatest undiscovered music groups to the stage for a chance to win $100,000 and the title of “MTV’s Top Pop Group.”  Each week, a new celebrity coach will come in to mentor the groups on everything from choreography and harmony to style and stage presence.  And with dreams of stardom on the line, the groups will not only need to impress the mentors and panel of judges in the studio, but more importantly, the viewers at home, as the viewers decide who makes it to the next round.

For a sneak peek at the nine talented groups from across the U.S., MTV will offer “MTV’s Top Pop Group: The Casting Special” on Thursday, August 28 at 9pm ET/PT before they head to Hollywood to compete.  The one-hour special features host Mario Lopez as he introduces each of the groups providing viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at their audition and their personal lives

“MTV’s Top Pop Group” will premiere on Thursday, September 11 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.  Marianela Pereyra will be the show’s backstage correspondent.  Celebrity judges and mentors for “MTV’s Top Pop Group” to be announced at a later date.

That’s exactly what Pop Princess / Tabloid Fodder / Comeback Pop Star Britney Spears told OK Magazine in a very nice interview she has just given them. Out of all the disastrous drama she’s been through, and actually US (hehe) as well, Britney is releasing a follow up album to Blackout. Britney also said that this new one is going to be her best ever. She’s working a lot, writing every day and night with the piano, in the living room. I say this all the time, as much as the dark shadow that accompanied Blackout release, her not so fabulous performance at the VMA for instance, it’s actually her best album ever. So if she could top that then by all means, Welcome Back Brit-Brit!

Paula Abdul, known as the weird judge from American Idol who is a Grammy Winner Pop Star back in the days actually was a phone guest at Johnjay and Rich of 104.7 KISS FM in Phoenix last Monday, and boy did she talk. She talked about Ryan Seacrest, the Emmy’s, and her plans of turning a movie into a Broadway show starring by none other than herself (of course). Even though the DJ’s prodded her for more info, Paula said she couldn’t reveal anything else until she secured the rights to the movie.

And then Jesse McCartney phoned in and Paula praised him for the success of “Leavin“. The next thing you know, Jesse and Paula are announcing a collaboration together with the legendary songwriter Oliver Leiber. Paula said she wants to do something fresh and new. And I guess Jesse McCartney is it.

British producer and song write, Taio Cruz is producing Britney Spears’ upcoming album and he’s promising a really good one. Actually, he said, Britney will be the “biggest star in the world next year“. He believes ‘Blackout” was released too early. Britney wasn’t ready for it. Maybe she wasn’t ready to promote it but it certainly is her best album yet in my opinion.

Furthermore, the confident producer promises good songs from Britney Spears. She has Kanye, Pharrell, Timbaland and him doing tracks for the Pop Star. Wow, talk about a who’s who in the music business. Now let’s hope Britney is ready coz Taio thinks she will indeed conquer the world again with this new record as long as she is ready.

Catch her if you can (Yo, Paps) but ccording to Billboard.com Britney Spears is spending her summer time in the studio to work on her upcoming album. The not yet titled album is being primed by producers and songwriters namely JR Rotem, Sean Garrett, Guy Sigsworth, Danja and Bloodshy & Avant.

Rodney Jerkins has already intimated that Britney’s new album will be a reinvention for both of them. And, the album will be uptempo and will appeal to clubbing.

I can’t wait. I don’t know how she’ll top Blackout which even though didn’t get much sales, is actually her best album yet. Her tabloid-rehab-disaster life pretty much overshadowed how good her new songs are. All Britney really had to do was have 1 amazing performance but even that didn’t happen on MTV. Oh well, bygones. Let’s hope the next one gives us the old Britney back. You know when she was dancing and lip synching until her butt and lips hurt :).
