Touch My Body by Mariah Carey. The 1st single off of Mariah Carey’s E=MC2 album. Touch My Body knocked Elvis out of his #2 spot of having the most #1 hits on all-time Hot 100 Number 1.

Take A Bow by Rihanna. This is included in the re-release of Good Girl Gone Bad album.

I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry. 1st single off of One Of The Boys album.

No Air by Jordin Sparks featuring Chris Brown. 1st single off of Jordin Sparks debut album after winning American Idol.

Piece Of Me by Britney Spears. 2nd single off of the Blackout Album.

As much as I’m hoping Britney finally wins a VMA award, I’m afraid her video is older than the other nominated videos. And I also think MTV is once again using Brintey’s name to garner more publicity for the award show. Either she shows up coz she’s nominated or performiing. I’m hoping the latter. People will tune in to see if Britney will make an appearance or win an award. Either way, MTV is doing what they do best. As for who I think is going to win? Mariah, Katy or Rihanna. I’m still crossing my fingers for Britney though .

So everyone and their Presses are campaigning for their artists to be nominated for 2008 VMA. One that really made me laugh was Britney Spears Myspace bulletin asking fans to rack as many nominations for the Pop Star.

Look, I love the chick. Yes I do, as sick as that sounds, I’m a loyal fan. But I’m not voting for her. Why? Because she doesn’t have videos playing on MTV (if by any chance they’re actually playing videos). Not that I’ve seen anyway. Out of the 12 tracks from her Blackout album, she made 3 videos, thus far. They’re all mediocre. The 3rd one, I can’t even remember what song (Break The Ice?), was premiered online. I never caught it on MTV maybe because I’m sick of MTV having reality shows up the ying yang. I hardly watch that damn channel anymore. Except lately with FN’MTV. Granted it’s totally not Britney’s fault that her videos aren’t on all day, she still doesn’t deserve nominations. Unlike other Pop Music fans, I can actually set aside my crazy fan tendencies and consider the credibility of an artist for such accolades.

C’mon people. If you’re going to vote for a Best Female Video, vote for Leona Lewis, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey or Katy Perry. Don’t just vote because you’re loyally trying to support an artist. That’s fine and dandy but think of the work they’ve done and decide at that particular time whether they actually deserve a nomination or the award for that matter. Like I said,  I ♥ Britney, but she doesn’t deserve a nomination/award this year. Britney herself probably knows that too. Some of her fans just can’t seem to comprehend that.

All I’m hoping is for Britney to pull herself together to hopefully perform during the award ceremony. I want her in that stage on September, dancing, lip synching and finally make her much awaited “comeback”. That’s all I ask.

BTW, the last I heard she was supposed to go to Europe to shoot the RADAR video but haven’t heard anything new about it so we’ll all just have to wait..:)

There was a rumor circulating around a few months ago the Britney might be appearing at this year’s VMA to hopefully top her last year’s disastrous performance. I have a feeling the Jonas Brothers were teasing us with more Britney rumors to come. I hope Britney performs at the VMA actually. *crosses my fingers*
