I’ve written my own recaps of last night’s Britney Spears For The Record. Part 1 and part 2. I was going to write a part 3 but I think you’d prefer a video at this point. Part 1 is up. I’ll post the part 2 video as soon as I find it .

I found the documentary very heart wrenching. I think it just proves once again that we never really know what happens to an individual unless we are part of that perspn’s life. We’ve read tabloids, and people opining on Britney’s situation. Most of them are all condescennding, lies and judgemental. We all go through our life’s journey. We make mistakes, we grow up and learn from them. The difference is, celebrities like Britney have to do it in front of millions and millions of people. Just because they have money doesn’t mean they don’t crave for normalcy. Simple things like going to the store, getting some ice cream, or going to the park with our own children. Just imagine how it would be like doing all that with cameras all over your face.

What I love even more about this documentary is seeing Britney’s goofiness and the way she lights up when she’s singing and dancing. When she cracked a joke and did something silly like dancing around with her new clothes, whispering at the camera after shopping, and laughing so loud I couldn’t help but smile because that is the Britney that I love. I hope she finds the love and peace within that she’s longing for. I think she deserves it as much as everyone else.

Here’s the continuation of the recap.

Britney admitted that she got married for the wrong reasons. She was more in love with the idea of being married. When she and Kevin split, she felt so alone. Now that she thinks about it, she should’ve went back home to Louisiana. She was left with 2 kids, one was still breastfeeding.

The reporter asked about the infamous shaving of the head.

Britney said she was going through artificial stuff with her kids and Kevin. People shave their heads all the time and no one is making a big deal of it except when she did it herself. It was her way or rebelling from her situation. She was shedding pretty much. She wanted to be free.

Then why didn’t you just tell people that, the reporter asked. Britney answered : “Because I didn’t it’s anyone’s business.”

Sometimes she wishes she wasn’t famous. She wants some normalcy. she wants to go get some ice cream, or walk on the grove and smell the fresh air at night with friends. She wants to push a stroller like every Mom does and go to the Supermarket. She saw Jessica Alba did that one day. Her sister is able to that with her baby. Britney can’t.

The reporter asked what would happen if they walk out in the street right now, Britney said they’d probably need security. Isn’t that sad? How would you like stepping out of your house and having someone follow you everywhere as a protection from  people flashing their screens in front of your face? I can’t even imagine.

She and her management discussed “Baby One More Time” 10th year Anniversary. Britney reminisced on the first 2 years of her fame. She loved it. It was amazing. She loved it when people were asking for her autograph. She was basking on the fame. But then she kept on working. For 6 years, that’s all she did. She went home to Louisiana and wanted to stop. She wanted to create a new life for her.

After doing some work with her new perfume, Britney and her Assistant, Brett Miller went shopping. On the way to SOHO, again, crazy paparazzi everywhere. Some were fighting. It got kind of scary. Good thing Britney was in the car with her trusted people.

Britney was shopping. She said she tries real hard to have normalcy as much as she can. She tried on a tunic top which she calls a dress. Her Assistant insisted it’s a top. Britney said it’s a Sarah Jessica Parker kind of dress. Brett reminded her, she’s not SJP, she’s Britney. I thought it was cute and funny. Britney then relented and said yes, it’s a top. Before that, there was also a scene where she showed silk ruffled top to her Assistant. The latter said it was ugly. Britney said it’s very Katie Holmes. I agree. It’s exactly the kind of blouse Katie Holmes would wear. I don’t think Britney was being mean about it but I’m sure some people would twist it around and make Britney look bad for saying so.

Britney wanted to shed the light on things that’s been said that aren’t completely true. Not that she cares what tabloids say but it’s her time time to clear things up.

Britney asked : “what’s weird?”.

Then a reporter in the documentary asked Britney : “Your Life, Is it weird?

Britney answered : “It’s all I’ve ever known. I don’t see it being weird“.

Those words pretty much summed up the life of Britney Spears.

On the morning of 2008 VMA’s, Britney’s Dad made her Cheese grits. Britney is a southern girl and while everyone else asks for Wheaties, Britney, being a southern girl prefers cheese grits

At a gather round, Larry Rudolph and Adam Leber, along with Britney’s Dad talk about the VMA dressing room. There has to be a rule. No one is allowed to get in.

Britney was afraid she was going to fall, she was a little nervous. She’s still biting her nails A LOT.

She doesn’t like the word “comeback”. She was always around. She brought up the disastrous “Gimme More” performance form the previous VMA. She talked about good performances, and bad performances.

She always been guarded but then she let go and let people it. They took advantage of that and now Britney is paying  for it. And will continue to apy for it.

Britney also talked about her break-up with Justin. That relationship was the magnitude of her existence on the lime light. After that, she didn’t know what to do. She became a “goer”, a party girl just to escape. Having said that, she handled that particular break-up much better than the one with Kevin. That’s because she and Kevin have children. She felt so lonely and so alone.

She has her good and bad days. Things that have happened personally that has been the problem, not the business side. She got married for the idea of marriage. You’d think she would’ve have gone back to Louisiana. she was breastfeeding around that time too. She built a home in Malibu, for her children and if just fell apart. Instead of dealing with the breakup, she just ran….

Segues to Britney explaining the concept of “Womanizer” video to her Dad.  So many different women a guy is “womanizing” about but it’s actually all Britney.

Then Britney and her assistant were laughing because Jamie was actually crying upon seeing how beautiful Britney is while getting ready to shoot the “Womanizer” video. And he also sang “womanizer, womanizer, womanizer“.
