Kris Allen Wins American Idol

With almost 100 million votes Kris Allen is the new American Idol. I preferred Adam Lambert but oh well. Congratulations nonetheless. I could understand how the young voters like him. I mean he can sing and musically talented too since he plays both guitars and piano. Plus he’s got the come-hither look that I’m sure the young girls just love about him. Adam Lambert is the "loud and hard" one with flamboyant tendencies.  Kris Allen is the "soft and sweet" one. He’s the dreamy one :) .

Congratulations Kris Allen!

Kelly Clarkson is going to be dominating the television when her new album "All I Ever Wanted" comes out on March 10th.

Good Morning America, ABC — Kelly will perform her new hit single "My Life Would Suck Without You", on the same day her album is released which is March 10th.

American Idol, FOX — Kelly will jet set to West Coast to perform in American Idol. It will be during her album’s release week so I’m guessing it’s during the elimination round which is usually on Wednesdays.

Saturday Night Live, NBC — Kelly will be performing in SNL on March 14th.

Other TV appearances are : Live! With Regis & Kelly (syndicated), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC) and Ellen (NBC or is it syndicated?)

Check out your local listings to find out the times and days of Kelly Clarkson’s appearances. Don’t forget to pick up her new album on March 10th.

Blake Lewis Is Making A Dance Record

February 18, 2009 by Dexie

American Idol Season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis informed his fans on a video posted at YouTube that he is currently working on a new album under Tommy Boy Records. The latter has given Blake the go-signal to make a dance record which he is excited about. Watch it below.

This is Blake Lewis‘ first video blog which he hopes to continue so you might want to bookmark his YouTube page to keep track of future video blogs in the coming days.

As Blake related in his video blog, he’s very excited and pumped with the new direction of his career. A dance record as opposed to his usual beat boxing ways? We’ll see when it gets here I guess. Let’s hope his fans will appreciate his venture to the dance genre :)

Video : My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson

February 2, 2009 by Dexie

Here’s the video of Kelly Clarkson’s hit single "My Life Would Suck Without You". Videos from all over the places have been posted then yanked off hours later but My Play is usually generous with their Artist’s videos so this would probably stay :).

"My Life Would Suck Without You" jumped on to the #1 spot on weeks time in Billboard’s charts. It’s also # 1 in digital downloads. "All I Ever Wanted" will be out on March 10th.

What do you think? I like it. The beginning is so cute and romantic. Then it becomes irritating, annoying, dysfunctional, yet truthful. It portrays something real in any relationships that I’m sure any of us have experienced in life. It shows what really matters in life. Being a pain in the butt or work things out because in the end, Your Life Would Suck Without Him/Her. Good job Kelly!

Kelly Clarkson Jumps To Billboard’s #1 Chart

Kelly Clarkson’s new single "My Life Would Suck Without You" off of her upcoming album "All I Ever Wanted" jumped from #97 last week to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. The last time that happened in the music history was with Britney Spears when "Womanizer" jumped from #96 to #1 in a week’s time. My Life Would Suck Without You is also #1 in Digital chart with 279,605 sold within a week.

I think the single’s success is the reason why they moved up "All I Ever Wanted" album release on March 10th instead of the original date of  March 17th. All I Ever Wanted which is under 19 Recordings/RCA Records is the fourth album from Kelly Clarkson after winning the 1st season of American Idol

Here’s a video from David Archuleta’s appearance at Live with Regis and Kelly last Wednesday. The American Idol “cutie” runner up performed his hit single “Crush” off of his upcoming debut album.

David did wonderful. I wished he played the piano though like in the "Crush" video. Nevertheless, it was still great to watch David Archuleta perform again.

David Archuleta Talks About Debut Album

October 3, 2008 by Dexie

David-Archuleta_nc While doing a phone interview with Johnjay and Rich of 104.7 KISS FM (Phoenix), David Archuleta talked about the direction of his debut album. Here’s what he had to say :

“It’s pretty much pop. I didn’t want to like, just run with a certain idea because I’m still in that mode of teenage life, like where do I want to go in my life and who do I want to be. So I didn’t want to just run with ideas because you know like teenagers can be like, ‘Oh this is what I want to be and this is who I am in life’ and they change their minds in a couple of years. So I didn’t want to limit myself with the kind of much I did and try to keep a good variety on the album. Since we didn’t have a lot of time to concentrate on a certain direction, it’s good to keep a wide variety of songs and a good mixture.” (SOURCE)

While this makes sense, coming after American Idol and putting out an album relatively quick to keep the momentum, I hope not having time to concentrate on a certain direction doesn’t bite them in the behind. It probably won’t since David Archuleta has a very big fan base right now. So anything that he puts out in the market tomorrow will hit the top charts.

I’m thinking about longevity though. You don’t want an Artist, especially a Male Pop Artist with David’s talent to be stagnant and come out with a sophomore album to sound like the first one or mediocre at best. I hope his team considers his career for the many years to come and not just to make a buck by appeasing certain buyers in the market each time David comes out with a new album. He will grow and his fans will grow. So I guess rake all the benefits now then think hard and spend more time on what direction he wants to take on the next one.

David Archuleta Wants To Work W/ Miley Cyrus’ Team

August 8, 2008 by Dexie

David-Archuleta_nc

Actually, David Archuleta and his father/manager wants to work with the same people who worked with Miley Cyrus’s Breakout Album. EOnline “exclusively” learned that David and his Dad Jeff met with the Rock Mafia Productions and would like Archie’s debut album to go in the same direction Miley’s debut album went.

Well, Breakout is #1 at this moment so it’s probably a good decision on David A’s team. Let’s hope it works for him as well as it worked for Miley. Meanwhile, listen to David Archuleta’s first single called “CRUSH”.

David Archuleta On The View

June 24, 2008 by Dexie

David-Archuleta_nc David Archuleta, along with David Cook were on The View this morning. It was a lovely interview if I say so myself. A person with no malice in his/heart could clearly see that these 2 David’s are genuinely supportive of each other. Elizabeth even asked Jeff, Archie’s father, about all the controversies during the show maligning his name. Jeff summed it up just right. Some people just can’t accept the fact that David A is a good kid. They couldn’t really say anything bad about him so when he fibbed his lines from one of the songs, they went after the next best thing. I loved how David Cook defended Jeff as well. He said David A’s father is nothing but supportive and only cares about his child. It’s just the media trying to put a spin on things just because. Kinda sad but true.

Watch David A’s performance on The View after the fold…
