Rihanna Covers Madonna’s VOGUE @ Fashion Rocks 2008

Appropriately enough, the opening performance from the taped telecast of Fashion Rocks 2008 was a cover of Madonna’s VOGUE by Rihanna. She did ok. The song arrangement didn’t step away that much from the original. I just have one beef though. Rihanna was too stiff. She totally did not capture the energy that Madonna has and still has every time she’s performing the song.

Rihanna was already lip synching so dancing shouldn’t have been a hard feat to pull off. She lacked the pizzazz that Madonna projects on that song. I put more effort doing my freestyle dance than Rihanna did in her mediocre cover of Madonna’s Vogue, heh!
