Miley Cyrus has issued her apology to PEOPLE.com regarding the provocative pictures from the Vanity Fair magazine that hasn’t been released and the ones that circulated online.
“My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed.”
“The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots. I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone.
“Most of all,” she says, “I have let myself down. I will learn from my mistakes and trust my support team. My family and my faith will guide me through my life’s journey.”
The bolded part is to reiterate to everybody why we, as common folks, shouldn’t treat celebrities as “ROLE MODELS”. The latter drives me crazy. We put celebrities on pedestals. They’re just as human like the rest of us. They’re going to commit mistakes. Some of them will admit, then take responsibility from ther mistakes and learn, some may not. But again, they’re just humans. Miley Cyrus is young and I agree with Disney when they said she was somehow manipulated to do it to sell magazines. With all the publicity it’s getting now and the issue is not even out yet, of course it’s all about selling copies. Check out PEOPLE to read more about Disney’s statement and what really happened during the photoshoot.
