Jennifer Hudson is finally releasing her first Album after winning an Oscar. Her self-titled album will debut on September under Arista Records but her first single, “Spotlight” will be heard on radios on June 9th while iTunes will have it for digital release on June 10th.
“I’m beyond ecstatic about my new album,” says Hudson. “I think people will be pleasantly surprised, because it shows a side of my work that no one has heard before. This album has a huge variety of sounds and one of my favorite songs is ‘Spotlight’ because it has this great infectious groove. This is completely new territory for me and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
Jennifer Hudson’s album was written and co-produced by Ne-Yo under Stargate production. Among the A-list team who contributed to ‘Spotlight’ are Timbaland, Robin Thicke, The Underdogs, Diane Warren, Tricky Stewart and more.

I love this song, I play it everyday when I get to work. This song shows off Jennifer vocals in a soft but strong way. I love it, keep up the good work.

I think that this is a great single and it shows us a different side of her. I love the single and can not wait to see the video and get the album.

I absolutely love Jennifer and I freaking love this song. Like Orinana mentioned, this song showcases a different side to Jennifer and it shows how versatile she is. I purchased Spotlight on iTunes yesterday….I so can’t wait until the full length is released on September 30th.
