Columbia Records will release two special edition CDs featuring career-spanning repertoire from Celine Dion, the biggest selling female artist of all time.  My Love Essential Collection is a single disc featuring 17 songs, consisting of Celine’s biggest hits, rarities and crowd-pleasers including “I’m Alive”, “Power of the Dream”, the brand-new never-released “There Comes A Time,” and “My Love”.  This track has become a show-stopper every night during Celine’s sold-out World Tour, which is currently in flight across North America.  

The two-disc edition, entitled My Love Ultimate Essential Collection, is a 26 song set, that has been further expanded to include rarities like “(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman”, “The Prayer” (a duet with Andrea Bocelli) and “Pour que tu m’aimes encore” (the biggest song of Celine’s French career).

Eric Hutchinson shines with a unique brand of pop-soul on his debut album, Sounds Like This. Although the charismatic singer/ songwriter has been favorably compared to his early idols (Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel, Paul Simon), one of the most remarkable things about Sounds Like This is the sheer breadth of musical styles that Hutchinson effortlessly encompasses.

The record was released on Hutchinson’s own label, Let’s Break Records, at the end of August 2007 and overnight it was breaking records. One of his buddies emailed celebrity blogger Perez Hilton a link to his MySpace page, and Hilton was immediately impressed, recommending the music on his site. Soon after, Sounds Like This was ensconced in iTunes’ Top 10 becoming the highest-charting album by an unsigned act in iTunes history.

Since then, the self-described student of pop signed to Warner Bros. Records, toured with One Republic, released the undeniably catchy single “Rock & Roll,” snagged a spot on The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 Soundtrack, and recently became one of VH1’s “You Oughta Know” artists. Hutchinson takes pride in the raw, vintage vibe of Sounds Like This: “I tried really hard to keep it organic,” he says. “Music is human expression and what’s more human than to make a mistake? So to record something and then take out all the mistakes leaves the project with no soul to it.” With ska-inflected grooves, jazzy melodies and vocals that veer from a gritty growl to a shimmering falsetto, Sounds Like This might just be the most soulful thing you’ve heard all year.

DIDO SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM,

SAFE TRIP HOME, ON NOVEMBER 4

The new album from Dido, Safe Trip Home will be released by the RCA Label Group on November 4, 2008.

Recorded in Los Angeles and London, Safe Trip Home is co-produced by: Jon Brion (Fiona Apple, Kayne West, Rufus Wainwright, The Eels) Ark, the new production company of Rollo Armstrong (Faithless) and Dido. The record also features a song co-written with Brian Eno.

To coincide with this announcement a track from the album will be available for free download. From Friday, August 22^nd “Look No Further” will be available from www.didomusic.com. A single, “Don’t Believe in Love,” will also be released in both physical and digital formats ahead of the album.

In an astounding week of sales across the board, both MAMMA MIA! The Movie Soundtrack and the MAMMA MIA! Original Cast Album are runaway smashes, ruling the Billboard, iTunes and Amazon charts. 

The Movie Soundtrack has garnered the #3 chart position on Billboard’s Top 200, achieved #1 status overall on the iTunes Music Store, and #1 on the Billboard Soundtrack chart, all in its third week of release. 

Additionally, the Soundtrack’s debut marked the highest charting week ever in history for an ABBA recording.  Eight years after its release, The Original Cast Recording also currently holds the #1 position on Billboard’s Broadway Chart.  The beloved musical has been seen by more than 30 million people in 170 cities and eight languages around the world.

Chris Roberts, President, Classics and Jazz International/Chairman, Decca Label Group, commented, “The success of the MAMMA MIA! Soundtrack and Cast Recording further solidify the power of the franchise, with its ever-growing popularity. Mixed, mastered and produced by ABBA’s musical geniuses Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, the soundtrack is the ultimate souvenir from the hit film.  Andersson and Ulvaeus reunited in Stockholm with the musicians who played on the original ABBA songs to record the disc in February 2007. It was the first time the musicians had played the songs together since ABBA toured more than 25 years ago.  Along with producing the recording, Andersson also played keyboards. He commented, “We didn’t have to think about it – it was in the fingers.”

Both MAMMA MIA! The Movie Soundtrack and Original Cast Album are available now on Decca and Decca Broadway respectively.

Delta Goodrem is an Australian Pop Star who in the age of 23 is one of her country’s successful and highest-selling female artists. Her debut album in 2003, Innocent Eyes sold over a million copies in Australia. It spent a record-breaking 29 weeks at No.1 in Australia, won the Highest Selling Album award at the Australian equivalent of the Grammys two years running and has now clocked up 4 million sales worldwide – including reaching No.2 in the UK.

Innocent Eyes established Goodrem as not just a musician but a songwriter. In 2006, Goodrem performed a self-penned song, “Together We Are One,” at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in front of a worldwide audience of 1.5 billion. The inspirational song surfaced on last year’s American Idol. Another song penned by Goodrem, “Days Go By,” was a No.1 hit this year by Norwegian Idol Glenn Lyse, while she also just collaborated on a song with hero Olivia Newton-John for her new cancer charity

“Olivia’s been a shining light for me,” Delta says. “She’s guided me, she’s continually given me great advice.” Another one of Goodrem’s songs, “Eyes on Me,” was selected by Celine Dion for her latest album Taking Chances.   “To hear ‘Eyes on Me’ sung by a woman I’ve looked up to all my life – that’s an amazing feeling,’’

Delta Goodrem’s US record, Delta was released on Decca on June is currently #17 on iTunes and #5 under the Pop Charts.

One of the songs from Delta is called “Possesionless“. It’s the most personal song she has on the album because she wrote it shortly after she won her battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. A cancer which stopped the height of her career in 2003. “Possesionless” tackles how her chemotherapy taught her valuable lessons in life. She maybe have lost her hair but it helped her rediscover herself.

“Hard times are universal. Good times are universal. I’ve learned how powerful music can be to people, how you just want to get lost in music. That’s a really special connection with people that isn’t disposable. I like the idea of starting in America with a clean slate – I’m looking forward to singing my heart out.”
