Summer Hits For My Summer Soundtrack

As part of the Music Channel’s Summer Soundtrack theme day, I’m sharing with you the summer hits I’ve been listening to. I guess you could call it as a “Summer Soundtrack”. I haven’t had time time to crank up the old school songs, except on a few instances here at the Song Of The Day feature. As August is such a busy month for me, I usually pump the volume up when my favorite hits are playing on Satellite TV’s XM Hitlist or 20 on 20. Take a listen below and hope everyone is having a wonderful Summer!

As you can see and hear, not all of the songs are geared into the POP Music genre per se’. But music is universal and I listen to all kinds. Although surprisingly, I’m not digging the pop country songs lately. Oh well. Like I said, Hapy summer and feel free to share with me your summer soundtrack on the comments box. What’s The Last CD You Bought?

Or do you even still buy CDs these days? With iTunes and everything, what’s the point right? To tell you the truth my CD buying policy was limited to just a few artists for the past 10 years. Britney Spears, Madonna, Shania Twain, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey, Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Norah Jones, The Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, and Janet Jackson. They are the ones I loyally purchase. Most of the time I just listen to songs from the XM satellite radio. And as eclectic my music taste is, I do listen to my husband’s playlist as well. My husband would call it “tolerating” but I think after 11 years, it’s beyond tolerating. It’s called going “over to the dark side“, hehe .

As soon as I started this blog which was like April, yes, we’re barely new, I’ve purchased more CD’s than I’ve purchased in a year in the past. Hey, gotta buy them to write a fair and honest reviews, right? The last CD I bought was New Kids On The Block : Greatest Hits. Actually if we’re going to be technical about it, my husband bought it for me as a surprise. Of course he had to let the cashier know as soon as he put it in the counter that it was for me. Gotta love a Man who buys a CD for his wife even though he teases her all the time that the NKOTB are old, . The last CD I purchased personally is Discipline by Janet Jackson.

Flyleaf and Nelly Ft. Fergie Added On My Playlist

There are 2 songs I’m digging these days that I’ve added on my playlist. All Around Me by Flyleaf and Party People by Nelly and Fergie . 2 very different kinds of songs which explains my eclectic taste when it comes to music. The Metal Martyr Tagged Me

The Metal Martyr through his Health and Men blog tagged me to let you guys know 7 things About Me. I’ve done this Meme so many times on my other blogs I don’t know what else to share with the online world. But since Pop Music Scene is new to the blogosphere and he promised to buy me my Leona Lewis CD today here it goes :

My penmanship has gotten worse due to blogging too much
I used to not like Christina Aguilera (OMG) but now she’s Ok. I guess.
Kelly Clarkson is the only American Idol I’m willing to pay $20 for a CD. I have all her albums.
I think Jordin Sparks’ song lyrics are too dark for her age. Her songs are catchy but if you listen carefully to the lyrics you’ll understand what I’m talking about. I’ll discuss this further some other time.
I secretly(well not anymore) wish to join Dancing With The Stars. Too bad I’m not a celebrity.
I like Hannah Montana, I mean Miley Rae Cyrus
I watch too much Oprah and Dr. Phil.

Hello everyone, my name is Dexie and I’m your blogger for Pop Music Scene under the growing b5media’s Music channel. I’m usually dishing about Men’s Fashion/Lifetyle, looking stylish in a budget and raving about kids/babies fashion under Beauty and Style Channel as well as being opinionated about the Soaps On ABC under Entertainment Channel. Now here I am blogging about the Popular Music that we love to listen to repetitively from Weekly Top 40’s, Pop Radio stations, maybe a few videos on MTV if we’re lucky, you know, Pop Songs we sing and listen to ad nauseum

I like to listen to and appreciate all sorts of music genres but I’m mostly always into Pop Music. I like to bop with the rhythm, dance to the songs and maybe dream about being Madonna’s new adopted sister or Britney’s new conservator/stylist or Miley Rae Cyrus‘ new BFF when I’m not busy blogging that is .
