She’s originally from Mississippi and has become a pretty hot on the music scene in New Orleans. Her debut single is called “Driving Me Stupid” and is off of her upcoming debut album, which will be released through Universal Republic Records on November 10th.

It’s really interesting to see how her Southern musical influence, fuses with the pop sound. It’s definitely worth a listen.

Now, they are preparing to release their debut album Read Between the Lines and seem to continue to get their name out there!

The lead singer, Shelby Cobra really reminds me of Gwen Stefani during her No Doubt days. On this album you really get to see how just how perfect they are as a girl rock band. They really show off their girl power charm.

They’re track “Crazy Over You” is totally the perfect song to rock to while the title track is a great post-breakup song. On “Everytime You Go” you get to hear a softer sound to the girl group, which is refreshing.

I think their song “Saturdays and Sundays” will really appeal to their younger female audience. it’s a lot of fun to jam to and what teen doesn’t love Saturdays and Sundays? Other songs that really stand out on the album are “Unpredictable” and “Don’t Come Crying To Me” which have a way harder sound than the other tracks.

They’re track “Best Friends Forever” is another one of the slower songs and it’s pretty sweet. All in all, I think this album really hits at their target audience. It’s a super fun and relatable album and I’ll sure it’ll do well. It’s current available exclusively on iTunes and will hit store shelves on September 22nd. She worked hard at voice and music classes and eventually got recognition through her MySpace page. In particular, she caught the eye of Harve Pierre, the President of Bad Boys Records, who signed her on to his label. He and Sean “P. Diddy" Combs worked as the executive producers for her album What’s Done is Done.

Her two main songs off of the album are “Sideline” and “What’s Done is Done.” What I love about her single “Sideline” is the emotion and the truth behind the lyrics. It truly is a lovely song. And did I mention that it’s a great break-up song? You can also listen to her up-tempo track “What’s Done is Done” here.

They’ll be promoting their debut album by heading out on their own tour. The tour has been going on since the 13th of this month and will continue on through to December.  If you want to know Honor Society will be coming to an arena near you, be sure to continue to check their official MySpace page, where they’ll have dates and venue names available.

Pop Music Scene: Hi Esmée! Thanks for taking the time to answer some of these questions!

When you were just starting out as a YouTube sensation, covering popular songs, did you ever think that you’d be shooting your own music video almost three years later?

Esmée Denters: No, I never thought that this would happen! I just wanted to know what people thought about my voice. I always wanted to become a singer. It is so amazing that I have been able to live my dream because of the support that I got from the fans on YouTube. I am very thankful for that and I am very happy that I get to share all of this with them!

PMS: Do you ever see yourself making an album for all the songs that you’ve covered?

ED: I love doing covers, but I think for now I am really excited about discovering the art of songwriting and writing my own songs.  Songwriting has become like therapy for me. It was always my goal and dream to write my own songs. I am really excited about my first album because I wrote on almost all of the songs. But that doesn’t mean I will never cover a song again in the future.

PMS: You’ve recently been working with musical talents such as Justin Timberlake, Ryan Tedder and Polow Da Don. What’s it been like working with these great producers, and have you learned anything from them?

ED: I have definitely learned a lot from working with all of these amazing songwriters and producers. It’s been quite an amazing experience.  Justin has especially  been like a mentor to me in many ways.

PMS: Was there a song on your album Outta Here that you enjoyed recording more than others?

ED: All of the songs on the album are really personal, but I think the one I liked recording and singing on the most is "Admit It." It is really a fun song to sing!

PMS: You recently went on tour with Enrique Iglesias. What was that experience like for you?

ED: Touring with Enrique was an amazing experience! Enrique is a great guy one of the sweetest people you will ever meet.  What I really love about him and his shows is the connection between him and his fans. He really connects with his fans and keeps them involved throughout his shows.  This tour was the first time I got to sing my original songs from the album to a real audience.  It was great to see how they reacted to the music.

PMS: What do you feel sets you apart from other female artists in the industry right now?

ED: I think that when I was singing on YouTube people related to me because I was just being myself.  I think that’s really important.  I want to be involved as much as I can with everything I do.  I just want to touch people with my music, give them a great show, and write good pop songs.

PMS: When you’re not singing catchy tunes or travelling around the world, what do you like to do in you spare time?

ED: I really love the simple things like spending time with my family and friends. I love watching movies, going shopping, reading books.

PMS: Who would you say is your biggest musical influence?

ED: I have been influenced by a lot of different artists throughout the years, but I would definitely say Stevie Wonder is the reason why I wanted to be and artist. The soul in his voice and his amazing songs really get me excited.

You should note that the Paradiso Girls were founded by  Robin Antin, who also founded the Pussycat Dolls.  The group is composed of Aria, Chelsea, Kelly, Lauren and Shar. They’re single “Patron Tequila” is hot! The song features Lil Jon and Eve and is super feisty! You can’t help but move to it. So I popped the CD in and put it on replay pretty much throughout the day. My first impression after the 1 cycle is that the album is Cohesive. How so? It’s definitely a dance album. You will dance from the first track "Just Dance" all the way to the last track "Summerboy". All the songs have a nice beat into it. To be honest, the songs all sound the same which is why I call it cohesive. Having said that, I still like it. There is just something into every song pretty much sounding all the similar yet making me want to shake my hips and throw my hands up in the air through all of them. NICE. I’d probably get in trouble for saying this but while Lady Gaga could pass as Christina Aguilera’s twin, there were some songs on the 14-track album where I thought I was listening to Jennifer Lopez.

There’s a slightly ballad-sound in the song "EH, EH (Nothing Else I can Say)" but overall The Fame is a dance-club album that would appeal to anyone who well, loves to dance. It’s a great work-out CD to listen to that’s for sure.

Album : Here and Now

Here and Now by Taxi Doll was passed on to me by my husband who writes for The Rock Dose. He was initially given the album to review but upon hearing it, he gave it to me because he thinks it’s more Pop than Rock.

Once I listened to the whole album myself, it was apparent that Taxi Doll is under Pop Music category. The songs sounded like Britney Spears and Gwen Stefani with a touch of techno. Taxi Doll call this type of music as their signature "Rocktronica" sound.

Here and Now drew inspiration from Goldfrapp, Depeche Mode, Republica and, Garbage with it’s own stamp of cohesiveness from Dhana’s crystalline voice and the crisp guitar keys and melodies. Taxi Doll has been featured on popular TV shows like The Hills, Laguna Beach, and Veronica Mars. You might have heard them from movies like John Tucker Must Die and Firewall.

Britney Spears CIRCUS album is fast approaching, December 2nd to be exact. She will be celebrating this and her birthday in Good Morning America on the same day. While we’re waiting with baited breaths, Pop Music Scene is going to do a Britney Spears Countdown featuring some of her hit singles.

First up is her first hit single, “…Baby One More Time”. Her first ever song and video that catapulted her to fame. The “…Baby One More Time” video brought back the Catholic school-girl outfit back in full force.

• The boy in the video is actually Britney Spears cousin.
• The studio’s concept was for Britney to dance on top of a huge Vinyl record player.

Good thing they didn’t go towards the record direction. “…Baby One More Time” Video was her ticket to Pop Stardom and has turned into a classic piece in music history.
