Albeit there are a few Men on the video let’s face it, it’s the Women who were portrayed as jokes of "We Made You".  I would like to know why Eminem would only make fun of Women? How about Men? Hey, if you want to be controversial, why not make fun of both sexes? And I’m not talking about Men as extras. Famous Men who has issues too. I could name a few, heh.

Furthermore, what would Eminem say if an artist was brave enough to make fun of him? How would  Eminem react if someone made a video of his own dysfunctional life? What would he do if someone made a video pointing out his legal troubles, the way he disrespects the mother of his child, all the stuff he said about his mother, the fact that  he uses the same satirical formula whenever he’s out with a new video from his new album, and his other life issues?

You know, it’s all fun and good for Eminem to make fun of everybody. Most especially Women. It’s "harmless" because he’s just expressing his opinion on Pop Culture through his "brilliant" music. I have no problem with that. I’m sure his fans would tell me to STFU because it’s just a video and we’re not supposed to take it seriously. But I think I’m asking a legitimate question.  How would Eminem react if someone turned the tables on him and expressed their music artistry by writing a song and creating a video making fun of his issues in life?

Darn. I guess it’s still safe to assume that parents have no say on what their kids wear when they decide to look like Britney Spears who by the way is like 26? I’m also guessing that when an 8 yr old hear the song in the car, she’ll ask her mom to turn it up because she loves the song especially the part where Britney says "If You Seek Amy". The "powerless" mother can just sit there and cry and then blame Britney Spears for being such a bad role model to kids and parents alike.

Here’s my review of Britney Spears’ “CIRCUS” album which came out in stores Tuesday (December 2nd). I bought the DELUXE Edition so I got 3 more extra songs added to the 12-song list plus a DVD which features the making of CIRCUS video with an exclusive interview with Britney, and a double-side poster as well. FYI, 4 songs from this album were co-written by Britney.

“Circus” (by Lukasz Gottwald, Claude Kelly and Benjamin Levin) is already #1 on iTunes. The title track is also #1 single and #1 in requested ringtones. That’s no surprise because I myself love the song. I preferred it over “Womanizer” (by Nikesha Briscoe, Rafael Akenyemi) actually. “Circus” has more lyrics, compare to “Womanizer”. Granted the latter sticks in your head for weeks with the “womanizer, womanizer, womanizer” part, but that’s pretty much it. “Circus” has more content. My favorite part is when it pops “I Am the ring leader, I call the shots, I’m like the firecracker, I make it hot“.

The 3rd track “Out From Under“  (by Shelly Peiken, ArnthorBirgisson, & Wayne Hector) is a sad song but I love it.  It’s about unrequited love, what could have been and definitely a breakup song. I was telling my friend last night that it sounded like it was written for both Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline. She said she felt the same way when she heard it the first time too.

“You keep coming back to tell me, you’re the one who could have been… It was long ago and far away, but it never disappears… I don’t wanna dream about, all the things that never were. And maybe I can live without, when I’m out from under. I don’t wanna feel the pain, What good would it do me now. I’d get it all figured out, When I’m Out from Under”

Tell me that part doesn’t seem like it’s for Justin .

“So let me go, let me fly away. Let me fill this space between us. Growing deeper, and much darker everyday. Watch me now. And I’ll be someone new. My heart will be in broken. It will open up for everyone but you. Even when I crossed the line, it’s like a lie I told a thousand times”

Now tell me that second part doesn’t seem like it’s for Kevin . Accompanied with it’s somber music and Britney’s soft singing voice, you’ll feel apathy and will be able to relate with the song easily. Especially having an idea of what Britney has gone through.

“Kill The Lights” (by Nathaniel Hills, James Washington, Luke, Boyd, & Marcella Araica) did not mince any words. It’s about the paparazzi and tabloids. “Your words don’t stick, I ain’t perfect but you’re not either“. Enough said.

“Shattered Glass” (by Lukasz Gottwald, Claude Kelly and Benjamin Levin) is another one of my favorites. “Was it really worth it, was she everything that you were looking for to feel like a man. I hope you know that you can’t come back. Because what we have is a broken shattered glass.” Then the soft flow to the chorus, “You’re gonna see me in your dreams tonight. My face is gonna hunt you all the time. I promise that you’d come want me back….”. Then you hear the sounds of a broken glass. It’s a nice sound effect actually. It’s not as “dangerous” as it sounds. The music has a beat into it with a mellow sound as well.

“If You Seek Amy” (by Max Martin, Shellback, Savan Kotecha, & Alexander Kronlund) sounds really upbeat which isn’t actually a surprise because it’s written and produced by Max Martin. He and Britney has worked together a lot on Britney’s old albums. Britney is singing “la la la la la la la..” in the beginning with a nice rhythm to it. It’s a very interesting song due to the fact that Britney is asking and singing about a girl named Amy. Or so it seems. It’s almost like a different personality that people love to seek. Celebs these days. They keep introducing their alter-egos. Anyone seen Sasha Fierce lately? Anyhoo, listen to the lyrics carefully and pay attention to the title. To use the word clever is an understatement.

I’m adding “Unusual You” (by Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, Henrik Jonback & Kasia Livingston) in my favorites too. The sound could definitely be a fit for any episodes of MTV’s reality show lineup or even Gossip Girl. It’s endearing and has a potential for being a theme song for a “life journey” type of show.

“Blur” (by Nathaniel Hills, Stacy Barthe, & Marcella Araica) has potential but it’ll probably get left behind in the album as part of the 12 songs. I said it has potential because the lyrics are actually good.

“MMM Papi” (by Britney Spears, Henry Walter, Adrien Gough, Peter-John Kerr, & Nicole Morier) is cute, fun, and playful. I think the title is a giveaway there. It fits Britney’s goofy personality actually. “Oh Papa Love you, papa love you“.

“Mannequin” (by Britney Spears, Harvey Mason Jr., Rob Knox, & James Fauntleroy II) is the typical upbeat and energetic sound that Britney is known for. It would probably be the next single out because of that. I’m hoping not though because while it’s a good dance club song, I’d rather pick a mellow song like “Out From Under” or “Unusual You” to get the recognition they deserve.

“Lace and Leather” (by Lukasz Gottwald, Benjamin Levin, Frankie Storm, & Ronnie Jackson) has a Las Vegas showgirl kind of style. Pleasure, shows, putting on ‘lace and leather”. Alrighty then. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is her next single too.

I Love “My Baby” (by Britney Spears, Guy Sigsworth). It’s very self explanatory what the song is all about. It’s about Britney’s children, Sean and Jayden. It’s very heartfelt. The melody and music matched Britney’s voice and message. It could almost be a lullaby. Any woman who has children would love this song.

BONUS TRACKS :

“Radar” (by Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, Henrick Jonback, Malewa Muhammad, Candice Nelson, Ezekiel Lewis, & Patrick “J. Que” Smith) was from Britney’s Blackout album. I don’t know why it’s included in CIRCUS but I’m not complaining since I actually like it.

“Rock Me In” (by Britney Spears, Harvey Mason Jr., Rob Knox, & James Fauntleroy II) is a great song for the clubs. It’s got a chorus you could really get into. It’s a fast tune but if you listen closely you’ll hear an 80’s club vibe into. I like this one as well.

“Phonography“  (by Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, Henrick Jonback, Malewa Muhammad, Candice Nelson, Ezekiel Lewis, & Patrick “J. Que” Smith) is about being too attached to one’s phone. With the element of a hot guy on the other line. But of course. I’ve never heard of the term actually. Maybe because I’m not that obsessed with phones, heh. The track title has a potential of being on everybody’s mouth if and when Britney releases it as a single with a kickass video to boot.

You can add “CIRCUS” as another hit among Britney’s album collection. True to Britney’s style, the songs are catchy, something to dance to with a few mellow endearing songs. Dubbed as her “comeback” vehicle, it’ll definitely put her back into the high platform she left (not really) in the music business. While her personal life is intoxicatingly chaotic at times for some people, CIRCUS doesn’t miss the beat as well. Having said that, I still think her previous album “Blackout” is by far her best album ever. Circus will probably outsell Blackout though. It’s gearing up to be an instant gold on it’s first week.

I have been so disengaged from MTV for a couple of years now. I seriously can not remember the last time I was able to watch a full-length music video of a song. A few years back, even though MTV has Real World and Road Rules, you’d still be able to sit down and watch new and old videos. Not anymore. Try tuning to it one day and you’ll find one reality show after another.

While perusing the MTV.com website a couple of weeks ago, my eye made contact to it’s roster of shows. I saw a lineup of reality shows with no mention of any music video related programming.

That’s the lineup of shows MTV has lately. At least before they had Total Request Live, but that’s canceled now. Last Summer there was F’N MTV, that was a Friday night version of TRL, hosted by Pete Wentz.

People could argue that you could watch a music video online through MTV.com or oh I don’t know, YouTube maybe? But what if I don’t want to watch it online? What if I want to watch it in my living room like I used to. I’m sure some of us could do without “Next“, “The X Effect“, “Parental Control“, “Exhiled“, “Engaged and Underaged” (seriously?) oh and God forbid, not another season of the vapid cast from “The Hills“. Don’t get me started with Paris looking for a new bestfriend. Like we need more affectation coming from her and her stupid minions.

If MTV wants to stick to this kind of programming then I suggest they change the name “MTV” to something else. RTV perhaps for Reality TV, since that’s pretty much what they’re offering these days. Well except for “The Hills“. Everyone knows that it’s scripted as all hell, heh!

Here’s a video and review of Mariah Carey’s “I Stay In Love” video. Let me say this in a very loving way. Hmmmm, sorry I can’t.  It was boring, awkward to watch, poorly acted, and purely lacking in concept.

Mariah was a Las Vegas showgirl. The video started with her driving, black and white video by the way, she gets out of her car, sexy legs first, wearing boots with M embroidery. Mariah comes out in itty bitty cut off denim shorts, tight top, looking hot and sexy then BOOM, her car blows up. Mariah Carey continues to walk, unscathed.

Then we get a flash back of sequences. Mariah is showing us why she blew up her car. Here she comes preparing for a show in Las Vegas. Makeup, signature butterfly ring, and perfume. Mariah is singing and dancing to the mellow song that is “I Stay In Love” in front of guy in a suit. It’s safe to assume he’s her ex-boyfriend. The video showed both of them almost naked in bed, “playing” around. After the show, the guy is outside the dressing room waiting for someone. It’s not Mariah, but another showgirl. Mariah is pissed off, walks in the middle of the two lovers, and pushing both of them aside. Then Mariah drives away, in her car, which she then blows up in the end.

After swaying her arms around to go with the last part of the song, she hitch hikes and gets into a truck. Interestingly enough, a hybrid one.

Oh WOW! Whoaaaaa, I am so blown away (NOT). No pun intended. Watch “I Stay I Love” video below and let me know what you think.

Seriously, that’s all Mariah could come up with for a nice song? I like the black and white style but the concept feels so constraint. I’ve watched better Soap Opera storylines than that. Don’t break up with me or I’ll blow my perfectly nice sports car up and then hitch hike. YEEEAAAHHH. Who drives a car with built in bomb inside it? Why would anyone even do it? *roll eyes*

While Miley Cyrus was in Germany to promote her “Breakout” album, she was asked how she feels about the comparison of her between Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan. Here’s what she had to say :

“Um, I think they are both really talented and, I don’t know about around here, but at the Video Music Awards and everything, Britney Spears has been taking all the awards home and has really had quite a comeback. So, I just think that they are super successful and hopefully when I am compared to them, it’s them [...] career-wise because they have all been super successful and had amazing careers and they are both really talented.” (SOURCE)

The intro for Miley’s comment intimated that Miley practiced those lines wishing for something “better”.

First of all, I consider that question a bait question. For a 15 yr old, I think that’s as candid and articulate she could get. Seriously, what did you expect her to say? Unless of course you want her to say something crappy and then get her back in the media which was the intention all along.

Then you scroll down to read the comments from that article and you’ll get immature people getting mad at Miley for being compared to Britney and Lindsay. Apparently, it’s Miley’s fault that she was asked the question in the first place. What in the world are we coming to?

You can’t compare Miley to either Britney or Lindsay. You just can’t. There’s a generation gap in between all of them. The time Britney started is so much different compare to now.

If you’re going to do it at least have the decency to admit that you’re expecting Miley to trip. For her to say something catty and mean so you could throw a stone at her. That’s what this interview was all about. Give me a break.

I’ve been reading a lot of opinions on whose fault it is that Danity Kane “broke up”. Well, in the second to the last episode of Making The Band a few weeks ago, Diddy fired Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods decided to leave(?). Then on the live finale, Diddy told Aubrey to take responsibility for her own actions after listening to an awful long speech from her about being in the business and how much she loves the group and is friends with everyone. As much as I love Aubrey, I wanted to shut her up myself. 

What this all came down to was, some of the girls felt threatened that Diddy is doing some other projects with another member. None of them were vocal about their complaints except for Aubrey whose always been opinionated and is not afraid to talk to Diddy. If she has something to say, she’ll say it. Ultimately, Diddy felt insulted that he’s being questioned. The great Diddy. The mogul of all things. *ahem*. Aubrey wanted to be in the know of plans since it affects her career with the group, while Diddy felt it’s none of her business. That to me is unfair. Diddy doesn’t think so and fired Aubrey on the spot.

Now, let’s see enumerate Diddy’s history on forming his groups.

DREAM : They were all Diddy’s protege for 2 years, then all of a sudden they’re gone. Without even a “hey we’re gone” kind of news. The old members of DREAM are currently making a comeback and auditioning girls to form their new group. FYI, Dream has released a statement in their Myspace bulletin board stating that they don’t blame Diddy for their breakup. As a matter of fact, once the DREAM revamp is finished, BAD BOY will be the the first company they’d go to. Not because they’re are legally bound to but because BAD BOY has been good and respectful to DREAM. Interesting.

There was a rap group that Diddy created when he took over MTV’s Making The Band show after Old Town (boy band) was created. If I remember it right, there were 2 seasons of search until Diddy decided the group is just not good enough.

Then came the search for an all-girl group. He picked girls, sent some home and 1 season was dedicated to scratching everything out to start over with 2 members already picked out. Aubrey and Aundrea. That’s how Danity Kane was formed. They were having a good run there for a minute. Great album, pretty sexy girls who can sing. But now there’s only 3 remaining members. Or so it seems.

After the live finale aired, MTV released a press about extra episodes of Making The Band that will be out on early 2009. As soon as I heard that my mind went on suspicious mode. Really?? MTV has more episodes after this firing fiasco. Hmmmm.

• Will Danity Kane go on as a 3-member group?
• Will Diddy bring back Aubrey and D.Woods after maybe an episode of them “begging” to be let back in.

The real question here is : What scenario will Diddy earn more money?

• Would he earn more money in bringing back Danity Kane after their “fake” *couch cough” break up?
• Or would he earn more money from doing another season of Making The Band where he searches for 2 new members?

Think about it.

Way back from when they first started, all the way back to The Mickey Mouse Club, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have been coaxed, poked, encouraged, manipulated, rumored, prodded, written, and instigated to have a “rivalry”. Call it whatever you want. While the 2 Pop Stars were happy getting their foot into the music industry, the mainstream media were even happier to have found the gold mine. 2 Stars, from the house of Mickey Mouse, whom probably during their time in Disney were actually bestfriends are making waves in the Pop Music genre at the same time. Pretty much. Talk about a storyline of all storylines for media and tabloids to exploit and capitalize on.

Who deserved to take over Madonna’s throne? They didn’t realize Madonna is going to stay on that throne as long as she wants to, heh. Who sold more albums? Who will lose her virginity first? Who will show up in a slutty outfit? Who will crack first? Whose life is more worthy to paparazzis’ paycheck. I think we know all the answers to that, don’t we? At this point, it’s just a matter of personal preference.

Who is the better Pop Star? Britney or Christina? That became the mantra of all mantras when it came to these rising Pop Stars. Both were nominated for Grammy’s Best New Artist where Christina took home the trophy. Forget the fact that there was another Pop Star trying to make a name of her own. No wonder Jessica Simpson went on to make a reality show, venture into fashion and eventually left the Pop genre to try the Country Music scene.. She never had the chance. If only Madonna added her as the “3rd wheel” in the infamous MTV VMA Kiss with Britney and Christina. Maybe Jessica’s future would be so different today..LOL.

Anyway, back to Britney and Christina, the “old rivalry” has been set up. Starting with Metro UK who just had a conversation with Christina where Brit’s new single was brought up :

On her Britney Spears rivalry, Aguilera swears she hasn’t been monitoring her new ‘Womanizer’ show.

‘Honestly, I haven’t. I’ve been so sort of in my own creative cave. But no, it’s a great feeling to still be in the game with somebody that you have known for so many years, even going back to the Mickey Mouse club. We had so much fun together.’

But she adds: ‘At this stage in our lives, we are so different I don’t think you can put us in the same ball park.’ (SOURCE)

Good answer Christina. With their albums coming out so close to each other (Christina’s is on November, Britney’s is on December), I’m pretty sure the stage is being prepared for another “fight” for Madonna’s throne between the two. Albeit albums being dropped are completely different from each other since Christina’s is a hits compilation and Britney’s is a full-length studio album. The proverbial “competition” is going to rise again. The doors are being prepped.

Personally, I like them both. But I’m more of a Britney Spears fan though. What can I say? I prefer dancing (sometimes) over singing songs with too much bravado. Hey, “It’s my Prerogative” darrnit .

Doll Domination includes hits. Of course. “When I Grow Up” is already making rounds successfully. “Whatcha Think About That” which the girls collaborated with Hip Hop mastermind Missy Elliot is “weak” in my opinion. With Missy’s touch, I was expecting something mind blowingly amazing. But that’s not the case.

So what are the Pussycat Dolls talking about on this new album. If PCD spoke volumes on being a strong, independent, kick-ass woman in songs like “Wait A Minute”, “I Don’t Need A Man”, “Bite The Dust”, “How Many Times, How Many Lies”, “Wait A Minute” and my favorite “Beep“, Doll Domination is talking about that kick-ass Woman who is now famous, leading the pack, partying, fashion and maybe a little bit of sentimental sap with a sentimental sap song like “Out Of This Club“. With the title you’d think it would be a dance fast paced party song but surprisingly enough, it’s soft and is about wanting to get well, out of the club with a special guy of course. “Happily Never After” which was a fairytale gone bad or maybe gone reality. “In Person” which features Nicole acting like a ghetto chick about to hurt a cheating boyfriend is hilarious. Nicole’s voice on this song was in a yelling mode. But hey, how else can you sing about “getting” a lying cheating boyfriend once she sees him “In Person“. I’m hoping they’d make a video of this actually. It would be funny to see Nicole running around, with black tooth perhaps, chasing a guy with an axe….LOL.

What I appreciate from Doll Domination is that the girls each have a solo song, most are mellow tunes. “If I Was A Man” by Jessica, “Space” by Melody, “Don’t Wanna Fall In Love” by Kimberly, “Played” by Ashley and “Until U Love U” by Nicole. The latter song by Nicole made me think of Oprah, Dr. Phil and all the psychiatrists on TV telling everyone that relationships won’t work unless all the people involved love themselves first.  

While Doll Domination could’ve gone a few more touches to make it a really big hit being a sophomore album after all, it’s alright. I’m guessing 4 hits will come out of it. “Bottle Pop” featuring Snoop Dog is probably one of them. “Whatchamacallit” which talks about being in Japan, bag matching the boots, fly girls and partying. Just don’t ask what they’ve got or their clothes label, or what their Man is holding up their pants, respectively because it is errrrr, “Whachamacallit“.

I’m wondering if any of the solo songs would be released as a single. I guess we shall see. In conclusion, Doll Domination in no fancy words is ok, 4 hits will stem from it, maybe add another 1. Compare to PCD which had 12 songs, Doll Domination has 15 + the 5 solo songs. But this is of course if you buy the Deluxe edition .

Anyway, I figured I’d reminisce and feature a song that I love from her Emancipation of Mimi album which is supposedly an intro or part 1 of E=MC2. The song is called We Belong Together. The video kind of portrayed her life as a young bride to an “old” guy, Eric Roberts while being truly in love with someone else, *swooons* Wentworth Miller (Prison Break).

In the end of the video, Mariah left the “old and rich” guy for the love of her life. Kind of biographical except the “love of her life” part. See, I miss this Mariah. When she’s singing soulfully, emotionally and lyrically. Not some bikini clad horny chick chanting a prostitute’s famous line from the movie Full Metal Jacket.
