New Track: Shakira “Loba (She Wolf)” - Audio
July 3, 2009 by Lauren Croteau
Sexy Latin pop singer, Shakira is set to be releasing an album later this year and we’re getting a little taste of it with this newly leaked single called “Loba.” The audio that’s shown below is the Spanish version of this single while the English version, called “She Wolf”, is set to be available for digital download on the 13th of July . The album is untitled and is expected for release in October of this year. Expected to be producing the album is Pharrell Williams and Red One.
What do you guys think of it? I actually like it. It’s got a nice 70s inspired beat to it. I’m excited to hear what the English version will sound like. It’s something that’s a little different than what we’re used to hearing from Shakira, but I think it sounds good. The howling that appears throughout the song caught me a bit off guard, but it’s cute! Listen to it below!

NOW That’s What I Call Music 31 Track Listing!
June 20, 2009 by Lauren Croteau
I always love when these albums come out! The track listing for, “NOW That’s What I Call Music 31” has been released and I think you’ll like what’s on the album. We’ve got some pretty good songs on there!
Four of the listed songs have made it to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Those songs are "Boom Boom Pow", "Poker Face", "Right Round", and "My Life Would Suck Without You".
This would be a nightmare for my family! These tunes are catchy enough on their own but when you’ve got them all together, I’d be singing these songs non-stop and probably eventually get kicked out.
If you’re interested in buying the album, you can look for it in stores on June 30th! Can you believe there are 31 of them?
Here is the track listing:
1. The Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow
2. Flo Rida – Right Round
3. Lady Gaga – Poker Face
4. Pitbull – I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)
5. Jamie Foxx – Blame It
6. TI w/Justin Timberlake – Dead And Gone
7. Kid Cudi – Day & Nite
8. Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em – Kiss Me Thru The Phone

10. Ne-Yo – Mad

Britney Spears Talks World Tour, Says “I’m Not Sad Anymore”
June 18, 2009 by Lauren Croteau
Thankfully, with the release of her 2008 album Circus, Britney Spears says that she’s been able to get back on track and prove people wrong about her. With the mental breakdown that she appeared to have suffered for a little while, Britney wanted to prove that she has more in her and that she won’t be going away anytime
soon.
She says, “A lot of people thought I wouldn’t make it. People thought I was finished, didn’t they? I guess for a while last year it looked that way. Nothing I can do about the past. But I’m hoping to prove them wrong now. And I have really put everything I have into this new show.”
Most importantly, she says that she’s in a really good place right now, “I’m not sad any more. I was just so sad for such a long time, but not any more. And you know what? That feels really, really good. I’m happy. Truly. I feel like the girl who has it all. I have my family, my boys, my friends, my fans, this show.”
That is fantastic to hear! I’m glad she seems to be focusing on getting better and that she’s bringing her life back together. I’m a Britney Spears fan. She’s a exactly what a performer should be like, but when that dark time in her life started, I was devastated. When she released her singles “Womanizer” and “Circus” I think everyone was relieved that she was finally starting to get back to being her old self. I wish her luck and I’m thrilled to hear she’s doing well!

The Jonas Brothers Sing Katy Perry’s “Thinking of You” – Audio
June 16, 2009 by Lauren Croteau
Oh dear lord. My ears are seriously bleeding, right now. The Jonas Brothers decided to cover Katy Perry’s single “Thinking of You.” And they really shouldn’t have. Really. The sad thing is it could have been really nice to hear guys singing a sweet song like that, but it went totally wrong and it gets worse and worse as the song goes on. Did they not hear themselves? Anyways, have a listen, if you dare.
I’m not even a huge fan of the original song, but I figured I’d put it up anyways. Check out Katy’s video for the song below:

Gwen Stefani Says She’s Struggling to Write New Songs
June 15, 2009 by Lauren Croteau
Unfortunately for singer, Gwen Stefani, she fears that her days of writing new lyrics are at their end. The lead vocalist for the musical group, No Doubt, admits that she’s suffering from major writer’s block and that she may never write a hit tune again.
She tells Elle magazine, "I want so badly to write a record. I want to make every other songwriter jealous. But that’s not happening right now. I might never be able to write another song."
The singer, who’s solo career was successful, says of her relationship with No Doubt, "I always referred to No Doubt as a marriage because that’s what it’s like to be together for so long and to go through what we’ve been through. I can’t really have that relationship with them anymore. My priorities are always going to be my husband and my family now."
Well, that’s got to be an awful feeling! Who knows? Maybe she’ll get her groove back and pump out some new content.

Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson Record “LoveGame” Remix
June 12, 2009 by Lauren Croteau
Well, if this isn’t the oddest pairing ever, I don’t know what is! New pop artist, Lady Gaga has recorded a remixed version of her hit single “LoveGame” with none other than Marilyn Manson.
Manson told Rolling Stone magazine of his interest in Gaga, “I was most impressed by her paparazzi shots. I thought that it looked the way that rock stars should look, as exciting as something that Warhol or Dali would do.”
I actually like this remix. It’s got a good beat and, of course, the addition of Marilyn Manson makes it unique. Let me know what you think of the remix!
Kristinia DeBarge “Goodbye” Music Video
June 10, 2009 by Lauren Croteau
Have you guys seen the music video for Kristinia DeBarge’s debut single “Goodbye”? Involved with the production of the song was Babyface and The Pentagon. The song samples “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye.” Have you noticed how popular it’s become to sample that song lately? We’ve got this song using it, then we’ve got Lady Gaga and Wale using it for “Chillin” and Jay-Z’s newest single “D.O.A” also samples it. Guess the song is making a comeback!
This girl needs to work a bit on her over-the-top lip-synching, but overall it’s a pretty good debut music video and single. Hopefully, she’ll do well! Check out the video below!
Nicole Scherzinger Ft. Timbaland “Physical” - Audio
June 9, 2009 by Lauren Croteau
A new song has been leaked on the internet by Nicole Scherzinger called “Physical.” The song is featuring Timbaland and is off of Nicole’s album “Her Name is Nicole.” By the way, the release date of the album has not been confirmed yet.
This song is not great. And I don’t see a future hit in this at all. It doesn’t have a strong beat, the vocals are subpar and the lyrics are blah. She should just focus her attention on her group, the Pussycat Dolls rather than trying to pursue something that’s clearly not working. I mean, she’s obviously the star of PCD, so why does she feel she needs to “break away” from them? It’s as if it’s mandatory or something for the lead singers of groups to have to go solo. I don’t get it. Anyways, let me know what you think of the song!
