Sexy Latin singer, Shakira took to the stage at the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards, where she performed her new single, “Did It Again” (see the music video here). Well, a Shakira performance wouldn’t be a Shakira performance unless it had slightly corny and weird dancing…so here we have it.
She did sound good (well, good enough for Shakira), and at least you can’t say that she didn’t give it her all. Check out her performance below.

Nelly Furtado will be releasing her first Spanish album in September and it is called “Mi Plan”. The cover art for the album has been revealed as you can see below. It’s a simple covert with Nelly’s signature ‘Nelly Furtado’ font, with the title of the album along the side. I like the simplicity of it. Sometimes simple is the best way to go.

The first song off of the album is “Manos Al Aire”, translated to “hands in the air”, which was just recently released. The second track announced to be following the previous song is called “Bajo Otra Luz.” Her Spanish album is due out on September 15th.

Nelly has also revealed that she has been working with Timbaland yet again for her English album.

She revealed, "I’m also writing an English album. Timbaland and I hooked up in the studio about three months ago and we wrote 20 songs in two days. It was really inspired. I think maybe some of that material will be on my English album."

The songstress also revealed that her record label wanted her to "do a quick and easy Spanish version of the ‘Loose’ material."

She explains her disapproval, "But I put the breaks on that. I feel like you have to follow your heart because you have more to lose if you compromise and then don’t succeed. But you’ve got to really appreciate success when it comes. With ‘Loose’ I took the time to toast with champagne every number one and every platinum record."

No news yet on when the English album should be released. I’m glad Nelly stuck to what she believes in for the Spanish album. It’s nice to see the less manufactured side of her again.

The music video has an interesting concept. What’s great about this particular version is that it has English subtitles at the bottom! Check it out!

After releasing her new single entitled “She Wolf”, Shakira has revealed that she feels more free as a woman. She recently told the Associated Press that she’s hoping to have little babies of her own in the future.

She says that the timing has to be right, “I really want to reproduce. I am so ready. I really would like to have a big belly, to walk around with my big belly. I can’t bring a little wolf right now to the world in the middle of so many projects. Maybe next year after the tour, who knows?”

She described what her new single meant to her, “I think ‘She Wolf’ has a lot to do with the moment in which I feel I am. I feel much freer now as a woman, a little more in touch with my own desires, and I tend to listen to myself a little more. ‘What does Shakira want?’. Not what everybody else wants, but what do I really want? And I think that the song deep inside is about that.”

According to Shakira, Beyoncé is not the only one to have an alter ego. The Latina singer calls her on-stage personality “She Wolf.” She explains it saying, ”[It’s] like a more animalistic side of you, a more primitive side … an animal person in a way. So when you understand these things you forgive yourself every time you screw up, you say, ‘It wasn’t me, that was the she wolf … that was the animal in me, that wasn’t me, I have nothing to do with that.”

Oh, well, um, when she puts it like that it sounds more like she’s having problems with denial and being accountable for her own actions .

What do you guys think of it? I actually like it. It’s got a nice 70s inspired beat to it. I’m excited to hear what the English version will sound like. It’s something that’s a little different than what we’re used to hearing from Shakira, but I think it sounds good. The howling that appears throughout the song caught me a bit off guard, but it’s cute! Listen to it below!

I like this song! I think it suits her voice well. It’s nice to given a break from all of that mainstream stuff we’ve been hearing from her in the past two or three years. Yet, it’s still catchy enough. I like the naturalness of it. What do you guys think?
