Angel By Natasha Bedingfield | The Video Missed The Lyrics

I admit  I was very critical of Natasha Bedingfield when it came to the “Pocketful of Sunshine” song. I stand by my opinion that for a song about spreading a sunny disposition, Natasha Bedingfield was singing too forceful. She was practically yelling actually.

It’s a different case with her new single “Angel“. Now here’s a melodic song, sang soulfully and softly. BUT, of course there’s a but :), the video seem to have missed the message. The lyrics, which you’ll find after the jump of this post, doesn’t match the concept used in the video. It’s kinda dark for a song that’s supposed to be singing about being an “Angel”. Black leather jacket, exposed cleavage/bra and red lipstick. It looks more like a Dominatrix to me, heh.

Sure there were traces of a “white” alter-ego as the Angel character, I suppose. I do believe they could’ve come up with a sentimental video concept to deliver excatly what the song is all about. Showing Natasha Bedingfield in a red, silver, and black gown simultaneously totally missed the whole point.

Oh well, I’ll take what I can :).
