During the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards, it was announced that a benefit concert called Hope for Haiti would be held to raise money to help in the damages caused by the destructive earthquake that shattered the nation earlier this month.
Those who will be performing at the concert include Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Bono, Alicia Keys and Sting. The songs sung by these artists will be available for digital purchase, and the proceeds will be sent to help in Haiti.
Make sure you tune in on January 22nd. A great number of TV stations will be broadcasting the event, which will be hosted by Wyclef Jean in New York, while Anderson Cooper hosts from Haiti.

2009 American Music Awards Nominees Announced!

The nominees for the 2009 American Music Awards have been announced! Among the most nominated for awards this year were Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift. The Kind of Pop scored five AMA nods and Taylor Swift was nominated six times.
Hopefully Michael Jackson is able to win something, to kind of complete his memory. I think it’s nice that they are giving people the chance to vote for MJ. Do so here. Also, confirmed performers include Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Lopez and Adam Lambert. Sounds like it’s going to be a good show.

Oh wow, first, Jordin Sparks cancels being Alicia Keys‘ opening act due to vocal problems, now it’s Alicia’s turn to cancels a few stops from her tour. First she canceled the one in Pittsburgh, next was Cleveland. Right now she’s being treated swollen vocal chords and hopes to get back on stage on April 26th for the Columbus concert.
