Nelly Furtado to Star in Hockey Musical – How Stereotypical!
February 9, 2010 by Lauren Croteau
Songstress Nelly Furtado has certainly made a name for herself in the music industry, pumping out many hits. But now it seems like Nelly will be putting her musical talents towards the silver screen. She will in fact be starring in a musical!
She was given a special part in the musical, directed by Michael McGowan, as a woman obsessed with hockey. Kind of typecasting since Nelly was born in raised in Canada.
McGowan has some words to say about Nelly, "Nelly is an incredible entertainer and, after speaking with her, I realized that she fully relished embracing her inner hockey fanatic."
Olivia Newton-John will also star in the film. Sometime this month, they will begin filming in Toronto, Canada.

There, she is hired by Tess (Cher) to work as a cocktail waitress at a Burlesque club. Slowly, she moves her way up and wows the crowd.

Hayden Panettiere Looks Forward to Releasing Debut Album
February 8, 2010 by Lauren Croteau
The Heroes actress, Hayden Panettiere says that she is looking forward to releasing her very own debut album, which she’s worked hard to ensure is near-perfect. All this hard work despite the fact that her single
“Wake Up Call” (listen below) wasn’t even charted.
Hayden says of singing, "I’d like to focus on music. I’ve been singing for almost as long as I’ve been acting and I love it. It’s just a different way of expressing myself and getting to be me, not having to play anyone else."
She says that it’s hard to find the time to work on the album, while working as an actress, "I’ve been working on my album for about three years. It’s all about finding the time, though, which is crazy. And it’s hard to get people to accept me as a singer because they see me as an actor."
The album, which is currently without a title, was supposed to be released in 2008, then was pushed back to 2009 and then put off indefinitely.
Would you buy an album from Hayden Panettiere? Watch the music video for “Wake Up Call” below to help you make up your mind.

Adam Lambert Talks Wanting to Experiment with His Sexuality
February 5, 2010 by Lauren Croteau
Former American Idol contestant, Adam Lambert is openly gay and is pretty proud of it, though he is a little bit curious about what it’s like on the other side of things.
In a recent interview, in which he was asked about his relationship to women, he revealed, “I like making out with girls from time to time. I have this curiosity at the back of my mind. I’ve never had sex with a woman and I’m a little bit curious about it.”
In a different interview with the LA Times, he spoke about his controversial performance at the American Music Awards, where he kissed a man on stage. He explains, "They pulled me off Good Morning America [on ABC] and two days later I was on a different early morning show on a different network.”
He continued, "They showed a clip of Madonna and Britney Spears kissing and right afterwards a clip of me kissing a guy – and they blurred it out. It was hypocritical and ridiculous."
Honestly, it is very hypocritical. But, to be fair, Glambert’s performance was quite edgy, with simulation of oral sex. A little bit too risqué.
That possibly sent people over the edge, though we have seen some pretty nasty stuff from women too. It’s an interesting situation!

Ke$ha Vandalizes the Hollywood Sign – Really?!
February 4, 2010 by Lauren Croteau
Wow. As if I didn’t dislike her enough. New pop star Ke$ha has risen to fame and currently has the #1 song in the country, but that won’t stop her from trying to lash out in attention. She and a bunch of her friends got together for a night of vandalism.
They went out late at night to go check out the Hollywood sign in California and they made sure to bring lots of paper, and spray paint. She actually put up huge pieces of paper in order to make the sign say “Keshawood.” Lame.
Kids, despite what you see celebs doing, they are certainly not always good role models. Take this, for example:

Who is the Most Talented Young Pop Star?
February 4, 2010 by Lauren Croteau
Young stars seem to be really taking over the entertainment industry and I want to know which of these young pop sensations you find to be the most talented.
Options are Taylor Swift with her amazing songwriting abilities, Nick Jonas who also writes great music and now has his own band, Miley Cyrus who has taken the industry by storm, the Jonas Brothers (need I say more?), and Justin Bieber who has melted the heart of millions of teen girls.
Vote for who you think is the most talented, or if you have another suggestion, post a comment below! I’ll announce the winner in a week.

Lady Gaga & Elton John Perform at 2010 Grammys
February 1, 2010 by Lauren Croteau
The ever dramatic and extravagant Lady Gaga opened the show last night at the 2010 Grammy Awards and I can’t think of anyone better to do the job.
She started with her song "Poker Face" and then after some on-stage drama, came out to sing with Elton John to perform “Speechless.”
She certainly works hard for her success doesn’t she?!
Pink Performs at the 2010 Grammy Awards
February 1, 2010 by Lauren Croteau
Yesterday, the 2010 Grammy Awards were held and many great artists showed up to perform for the awards show. Among the performers was Pink, who was also nominated for two awards. She chose to perform the song “Glitter in the Air.”
At one point she strips down to being almost completely naked. The whole thing was interesting, and actually made me a little bit nervous. Check it out below:
